True Unicorn & Black Cohosh Herbal Tea

Black Cohosh has long been associated with the menopause and for good reason with its estrogenic properties, it’s recognised to help with hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings.  


This blend of True Unicorn and Black Cohosh can make a soothing herbal tea to help alleviate these symptoms.

INGREDIENTS

60g (4 tablespoons) -  True Unicorn Root (Aletris Farinosa)


60g (4 tablespoons) - Black Cohosh Root (Cimicifuga Racemosa)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Mix all of the herbs together.


  • Take 1 teaspoonful of the blend of herbs and add to 1 cup of water.


  • Cover and leave the herbs to soak for 5 - 10 minutes.


  • Strain the liquid and drink whilst still warm.

DOSAGE

  • Drink 1/2  to 1 cup 3 times per day.

SIDE EFFECTS

Although most herbs are generally considered safe to use there is the slight possibility of allergic reactions or adverse reactions when used with other medication although this is rare.


Black Cohosh is generally considered safe, however if you are being treated for liver issues or blood pressure you should not use Black Cohosh.  Pregnant women should avoid Black Cohosh due to its uterine properties and those who are allergic to aspirin or plants in the buttercup family.  Due to its estrogenic properties Black Cohosh should not be used in hormone sensitive conditions such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids.  True Unicorn is generally considered safe for general use, however in large doses can cause nausea and vomiting.
